  1. Check pH level. It should be 7.4-7.6 ppm.
  2. Brush pool walls.
  3. Superchlorinate (shock) pool using the proper chemical.
  4. White Plaster Pools: 2 lb. per 10,000 gallons of shock chlorine (Calcium-Hypochlorite).
  5. Vinyl/Fiberglass Pools: 2 gallons of liquid chlorine or 2 lbs of RAM LITHO-SHOCK® per 10,000 gallons.
  6. Add 17 oz of RAM MUSTARD OUT 60® per 10,000 gallons or 36 oz of RAM POLY ALGAECIDE® per 10,000 gallons.
  7. Run filter system for 24 hours.
  8. Brush off any remaining visible algae.
  9. Vacuum pool and backwash/clean filter.
  10. Do not allow swimmers in pool until chlorine level drops to 3.0 ppm or lower.
Helpful Hint: To prevent regrowth of algae use 4 oz. of RAM MUSTARD OUT 60® or 9 oz. of RAM POLY ALGAECIDE® per 10,000 gallons every 7 days.
