Starting Up Your Pool

When starting up a reopened or freshly filled pool, make sure the filtration system is clean and operating properly. Clean any and all debris out of pool. Bring a quart of pool water in to have it professionally analyzed for proper water balance.

Proper chemical and balance levels:
pH - 7.4-7.6 ppm
Free Chlorine - 1.0 - 3.0 ppm

Alkalinity: Masonry Pool Surfaces...80 -125 ppm. (plaster)
Non-Masonry Pool Surfaces...125-150 ppm. (Vinyl/Fiberglass)
Hardness: Masonry Pool Surfaces...200-250 ppm. (plaster)
Non-Masonry Pool Surfaces...200-250 ppm. (Vinyl/Fiberglass)
Stabilizer: 30-80 ppm. (Cyanuric Acid)

Note:
Properly balanced pool water not only saves you money on chemical usage but, it also protects and extends the life of your pools surface and filtering equipment.

After the initial pool opening, have your pool water professionally tested every 3 months to maintain proper water balance.
