Green Algae Treatment

Green Algae grows easily in pool water and on walls. It is green to bright green in color. Green Algae clouds pool water easily. Take these steps for treatment of green algae:
  1. Check pH level. It should be 7.4-7.6 ppm.
  2. Check circulation of pool water (Are baskets and filter clean? Clean if needed).
  3. Turn filter system off.
  4. Superchlorinate (shock) pool.
  5. White Plaster Pools: 2 lbs. per 10,000 gallons of shock chlorine (Calcium-Hypochlorite).
  6. Vinyl/Fiberglass Pools: 2 gallons of liquid chlorine or 2 lbs of RAM LITHO-SHOCK® per 10,000 gallons.
  7. Next day turn filter system on.
  8. Brush off any remaining visible algae.
  9. Vacuum pool and backwash/clean filter.
  10. Add 11 oz. of RAM MUSTARD OUT 60® per 10,000 gallons, or 36 oz of RAM POLY ALGAECIDE® per 10,000 gallons.
  11. Do not allow swimmers in pool until chlorine level drops to 3.0 ppm or lower.
Helpful Hint: To prevent regrowth of green algae use 4 oz. of RAM MUSTARD OUT 60® or 9 oz. of RAM POLY ALGAECIDE® per 10,000 gallons every 7 days.
